About me
My name is Rachel Carpentier. I’m a Texas-born artist/crafter/maker currently living in New Orleans, Louisiana. I got my BFA from the University of Texas San Antonio in 2010 with a concentration in printmaking.
My nickname, chezlin, was given to me by my dad when I was a kid. I have no idea where he got it from. He always gave my sisters and me weird new nicknames, but for whatever reason, chezlin stuck in a way the others didn’t and I’ve identified with it ever since.
I’ve always loved working with my hands. Ever since I was a small child I’ve always been drawing and painting. As I grew older, I began to craft, build, bake, cook - you name it.
